I wonder the same thing - how on earth is this still an issue? And then I think, "Because we're animals." We aren't the high thinking things we think we are. We're just animals. And that's what animals do - run in packs. When we get rid of the race nonsense, it'll be something else. We'll always be banding together and fighting the other guys. Every couple-hundred years or so, we'll change what we're fighting about, but we'll always be fighting.

That's why movies like Independence Day are so awesome - they show us that against a common bad-guy, we can unite.

It's just a shame that we don't have the common bad guy. We are all fighting different battles.

My dream - to have all kids grow up in a home where math is talked about positively. On the surface, it seems less important than fighting for civil liberties. But I wonder if it isn't just as important.
